What do you do for cardio?
My fitness is really suffering as I like to have a good two or 3 nights a week out out drinking with my friends. Not a fan of running, so was hoping you could give some advice on the best alternatives.

Sharkskin has the right idea Wink

But 2 to 3 nights a week of drinking probably won't put you in the mood to do any working out the next day anyways.

I follow a 1 day weights - 1 day cardio workout schedule with Sundays off although I will usually still do something that is active that day. My cardio does include running though so you wouldn't be too interested in that.

There are lots of different fun ways to get a cardio workout if you don't like to do it in a workout type way. If you like basketball get in a pick up game. Football? Swimming? Boxing? Etc...etc...etc...Anything fun that makes the heart beat faster. So we're back to the best idea which Sharkskin hinted at. Wink

This my cardio routine, but it has a lot of running.

Monday - 5 Miles long run
Tues - Sprinting
Wed - Swim 1 mile
Thurs - 5 Miles long run
Fri - Swim 1 mile
Sat - Sprinting
Sun - Rest

If you don't like running then there are loads of other options.

Swimming, rowing, bike, cross trainers, skipping, fast walking, bag/pad work. Depends what you wanna do. Treadmill is by far the most boring excercise, but it works Undecided

I promise violence.

Apart from the above i like use a crosstrainer as it works both arms and legs.

Thank you guys Smile

3 times a week I've started going swimming. Loads of fun. 30 lengths each time I go and is taking me about 20 minutes each time (it's a 25 metre pool).

They have a gym there but it's just a excercise bike and a running machine. The swimming is much more fun - apart from when you swallow the water, thats gross!
